MIRI: A 29-year-old woman was found hanging in a room of a house in Tudan (Phase 4) last Friday afternoon.
The woman was found by her 47-year-old father in-law at 2.35pm after he and other family members came back from a joyride to Luak Esplanade Beach.
Deputy police chief here, Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, when contacted on Saturday confirmed receiving a report on the incident.
Our preliminary investigation has ruled out foul play as there is no sign of assault on the body, he said.
The body has been sent to Miri Hospital for a post mortem.
According to sources, only the woman and her four-month-old toddler were in the house when the incident took place.
The case has been classified as sudden death.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, police arrested four men for playing Holo in Permyjaya about 8.30pm last Thursday.
Police also seized cash amounting at RM123 and Holo apparatus during the raid.
The suspects, aged 19, 20, 26, and 39 years old and the seized items were brought to the central police station here.
The case is being investigated under Section 16 (1) of Open Gaming House Act, 1953.
