MIRI: An Indonesian woman, 30, yesterday lodged a police report alleging that she was raped by two unknown men who claimed to be policemen.
Police chief ACP Khoo Leng Huat in a statement yesterday said the incident occurred about 6am on Monday. The two suspects, believed to be locals, had approached the victim and introduced themselves as policemen.
The victim claimed she was also handcuffed before being taken to a residential area in Piasau Utara in a car. One of the suspects threatened to take her to the police station.
“She was however taken to a house where the suspects took turns to rape her.
“The victim has been sent to Miri Hospital for treatment,” Khoo said, adding that she was left by the roadside near a shopping mall in Lutong about 2.30pm of the same day.
He added they were tracing the alleged suspects’ whereabouts and the case is investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
