Verbally assaulted Senator lodges police report against FB user for tarnishing image

MIRI: Senator Alan Ling Sie Kiong has lodged a police report against a woman Facebook user.

Ling said in his report lodged at the Miri Central Police Station that the Facebook user had tarnished his image.

"Last night (Nov 11), during an event in Miri, I was giving a speech when a man came up to the front of the stage and shouted at me to stop talking politics.

"The pictures and recordings were posted on social media, my friends told me.

"A Facebook user, with a woman’s name, accused me of having snatched and damaged the handphone of her husband, who is the man who scolded me.

“I deny such an accusation. That accusation had tarnished my image,” he said in his report.

Ling was the guest-of-honour at an event in a hotel in Miri on Saturday night (Nov 10).

During his speech, a man shouted at him loudly to stop talking about politics.
