MIRI: Two local men were arrested on suspicion of stealing a fishing rod on Thursday night.
The first suspect, 29, was picked up in a house at Tudan Phase 1, Lutong-Kuala Baram road around 10.40pm following a tip-off.
That arrest led the team to the second suspect, 27, in Tudan Phase 3 where cops recovered the fishing rod worth about RM100.
It is understood that the fishing rod has been reported missing from a house in Tudan Phase 1 by a complainant.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the first suspect was the complainant’s brother while the second suspect was the buyer of the fishing tackle.
Both suspects are in police custody for questioning.
