Two cars ram into 13yr-old

BATU PAHAT: A 13-year-old girl died after two cars crashed into her while she was walking to school.
Hoe Chin Ling, from SMK Tongkang Pecah, died from severe head injuries in the accident which occurred while she was crossing the road near kilometre 3.5 of the Bukit Pasir Road at 6.30am here on Friday.
The drivers involved were a 52-year-old headmaster from another school and a 24-year-old man.
The first car, a Proton Waja driven by the headmaster crashed into the victim as she was coming from the direction of Tongkang Pecah heading to Batu Pahat.
The impact of the collision threw the victim to the opposite side of the road where a Toyota then rammed into her.
Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ibrahim Mohd Aris said the victim’s Indonesian maid was also hurt during the incident after the Proton Waja hit her.
"The maid is being treated at the Batu Pahat Hospital for multiple injuries.
“The victim died while on the way to the hospital,” he said, adding that, the incident occurred some 500m from the victim’s school.
ACP Ibrahim said both drivers have been detained for questioning and the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
