Two Brunei nationals die after SUV rams tree

MIRI: Two Brunei women were killed when the Lexus Harrier vehicle they were travelling in skidded and crashed into a tree at the Jalan Miri Bypass, Padang Kerbau here, at 11.55pm last Saturday.

Miri Police chief, ACP Khoo Leng Huat said both victims, Christina Nuyah Mangka, 26, and Patricia Sujan, 22, who were seated in the rear passenger seats, died at the scene, believed to be from serious head injuries.

The driver and two other passengers who were also injured in the incident were taken to Miri Hospital for treatment,” he said yesterday.

He added that the accident was believed to have occurred when the vehicle arrived at a corner at Jalan Miri Bypass and crashed into a tree on the road shoulder.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act, 1987. – Bernama
