MIRI: Sarawak’s newly launched television station –TV Sarawak (TVS) has been well received and given the thumbs up by rural folk in Telang Usan constituency, said its assemblyman Dennis Ngau.
He said he managed to watch the live broadcast of the launch on Sunday with some locals in Long Lama.
“Generally, the rural folk are very appreciative towards the initiative undertaken by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to set up the TV station.
“TVS will not only provide its viewers throughout the country with entertainment, information and others, but more importantly it will provide job opportunities to talented Sarawakians,” he said in a statement yesterday.
He also noted that some of the rural folks in his constituency were now able to watch TVS as they have subscribed to Astro.
He said the launch of TVS is another proof that Abang Johari walks the talk.
“He made the promise and now he delivered it. Hence, I would like to urge my constituents to look at this new achievement to further strengthen their confidence in the leadership of Abang Johari,” he said.
TVS was launched on Sunday by Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud during a ceremony at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching.
