A teenager’s attempt to find Kelulut honey to earn some extra money to fix his phone died after he fell off a 12m-tall tree.
Mohd Hafizudin Fadzil, 16, fell after a branch he was trying to cut hit his back, causing him to fall, reported Utusan Malaysia.
What made it worse was that his youngest brother, Mohd Firdaus, witnessed the whole incident which occurred around 10am.
“I tried to wake him up but he did not respond,” said Firdaus, 13.
He added that he and two other friends carried his brother back home in Kampung Tengah, Padang Tengah, Kedah.
According to the traumatised boy, his brother was taken to the hospital at 12.30pm on Thursday, but was pronounced dead two hours later.
Mohd Firdaus said he would stop harvesting honey even though he could earn a lot of money.

The man’s body was discovered behind the hotel at around 6.30pm on Thursday by staff.
According to acting district police chief Deputy Supt Rosdi Mat Jusoh, the victim, who came from Miri, Sarawak, had been staying at the hotel with a friend since Tuesday as he was receiving treatment in Sabah.
“A witness spotted the victim going up to the 11th floor but did not know his intentions,” Rosdi said.
