Indeed human’s can change the world whereas the world cannot change itself. This had been all over not only in australia but it can happen in our neighboring countries or even our own back yard. So I guess anytime now we would be hearing things no man or women have heard before in the news or other form of media.

I for one considered the incident shocking to a civilized society. a teacher is ought to exercise a substitute parental authority over the students. to remiss it, is a good source of liability. worse in this incident, it is the teacher who is the culprit indeed, thus she committed an offense with the attendant of aggravating circumstances such as trust and relationship :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Stef…if he was homosexually ‘raped’, yes, the psychological trauma would be devastating. But being ‘seduced’ by a female, who could have been very attractive, will only boost his sexual awareness and make him proud that he was the ‘chosen’ one. Do you know how promiscuous Aussie, North American & European teenagers are today?
Should such incidents be condoned? The child protection laws obviously do not. Must she be prosecuted & incarcerated if proven guilty? Probably. But to say that every such ‘victim’ will be scarred is too presumptious. It’s very common in north america and many of such incidents remain clandestine.

Hi Marlene…did I say it was ok for the teacher to behave the way she did? I have merely been conjecturing on the possible circumstances of the incident and have not pointed an accusatory finger at either party. Neither have I been presumptious viv-a-vis guilt/innocence. The law will deal with that.
Understand that many 16 yr olds today are as aggressive and lustful as adults, and are very capable in indulging in sexual activities that can boggle the mind. And in the Aussie case, we are not yet privy to whether the 16 yr old actually made the first move, which was highly possible. In any event, such a relation between educator and student may be adjudicated as unethical, and an adult having sex with a minor is generally a felony in the civilized world no matter what the consequences may be.
Having said that, the balance will appear to tip against the teacher, and severity of incarceration will depend on any mitigating circumstances. Nonetheless, it may not be out of whack to assume that the 16 yr old did have a hell of a ride, and yearn for more of the same!
