Soldiers from six battalions donate blood during campaign

SIBU: Thirty officials and 200 personnel from the 31st Infantry Brigade donated blood in a mass blood donation campaign in conjunction with their second anniversary celebration.

The event with the motto “A pint of blood a thousand hopes” was officiated by the commander of the 6th Royal Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Werar Sulaiman Ali.

He said the donors were soldiers from six battalions under the 31st Infantry Brigade, which include two battalions in Sibu and one each from Bintulu, Bau and Miri.

“We hope through our anniversary celebration, we can let people know more about the brigade which was formed two years ago,” he added.

He also said the sole objective of the brigade was to provide security along the Kalimantan border from Sarawak to Sabah.

“We hope to provide the best security service along the Kalimantan border not only in the Sarawak side but also in Sabah,” he added.

He said other activities for the celebration include a parade and a dinner gathering.
