Smuggled cigarettes flooding Sarawak market

KUCHING: Smuggled cigarettes are found to be sold more rampantly in Sarawak, said Sarawak Assistant Minister of Public Health Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.
He said the ministry would channel information continuously including through health carnivals as a measure to create awareness on the danger of buying smuggled cigarettes.
Currently, the main problem faced is the availability of smuggled cigarettes. What is even worse is that buyers are not aware of the contents of the smuggles cigarettes.
We hope that through the holding of this health carnival, the public can obtain more accurate information on this danger, he said.
He disclosed this after opening the Health Carnival 2014 at the Batu Kawa Health Clinic, here today.
