Sexagenarian dies in road mishap

MIRI: A sexagenarian died while four others injured when the car they were travelling in crashed into another car in Taman Tunku, here on Friday evening.

The elderly victim, Sait Libi, 61, from Long Ajoi, Baram, died while receiving treatment at Miri Hospital around 9.00pm on the same day.

It was understood that the Sait and his family were on their way home after visiting their relatives’ house in Taman Jelita around 6.30pm.

Sources said the victims’ car was believed to have gone out control and collided into a stationary car at the road junction.

“The collision caused the victim’s car to crash at the road shoulder.

“The incident also cause Sait to sustained serious head injuries while his wife, son, daughter-in-law and 3-year-old grandson suffered minor injuries,” said sources.

The driver and passengers of the other car were uninjured.

Meanwhile, a police spokesman when contacted confirmed receiving a report of the incident said the police were still investigating the case.
