MIRI: The establishment of the Poyut-Lubok Nibong 2 sub-branch of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) is proof of the party’s growing presence in the Mulu constituency.
In pointing this out, Mulu assemblyman Dato Gerawat Gala says including the just-opened unit, the constituency now has 11 PBB sub-branches, while the party’s membership number is 4,659 – close to half of total number of registered voters in Mulu, which is at 9,442.
“Our PBB membership in Mulu is growing. We are in the process of setting up our 12th sub-branch, which is Seridan – to be followed by a few more.
“I am pleased to hand over 192 new party membership cards to the members of PBB Poyut-Lubok Nibong 1 and 2, and also Tutoh sub-branches.
“We expect more members to join us,” he said his speech for the launch of PBB Poyut Nibong 2 sub-branch, held at Marudi Civic Centre late Friday.
During the event, Gerawat, who is PBB vice-president and also heads the PBB Mulu branch, commended PBB Poyut-Lubok Nibong 2 head TR Michael Salengkor and his team for their work in setting up the sub-branch.
