THE state government will launch a new initiative called Service Sarawak to improve service delivery at government counters.
“Service Sarawak is the concept of ‘no wrong counter’, where a person can avail oneself of routine transactional services of any agency at any counter,” Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip said.
He told the state assembly in his winding-up speech that Service Sarawak aimed to enhance customer experience in dealing with the government and to deliver integrated services through digital channels, counters and contact centres.
It will also reduce the government’s cost in providing services to the public, he said.
The first phase of Service Sarawak will be implemented at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) Kuching, focusing on statewide payment collection services for electricity, water and assessment bills.
In the second phase, it will be implemented at UTC Sibu, UTC Miri and some other major towns.
“Service Sarawak will be a major shift in the way we provide our services at government counters,” Talib said.
