Save Energy Program Rebates

To those who are looking into buying a new fridge or air-cond, you could check out this ‘save energy program’ by the ministry of energy, green technology and water to see if you’re eligible for some purchase rebates vouchers. RM200 for each unit of fridge and RM100 for each unit of air-cond.

Check your eligibility here : https://saveenergy.tnb.com.my/Public/Ch … ility.aspx
Official website : http://www.saveenergy.gov.my/

The following are the objectives of the program as highlighted in their website :

To create a culture of efficient energy usage among general public and business entities. This initiative targets the final end user through the retailers of electronic appliances and will generate up to 7,300 GWh of energy saved by the year 2020.

To save daily energy costs by consumers from reduced energy consumption that will lead to a reduction in GHG emissions.

To accelerate the transformation of the consumer appliances market to increase the share of Energy Efficient (EE) models and to phase out inefficient models from the local market so as to reduce the price premium for EE products.

To moderate the increase in energy use growth so as to reduce energy supply infrastructure development costs and the dependence on imported sources for electricity generation.

Save energy. Save environment.

Only certain models of the refrigerator and air-conds are under this scheme i.e. those with 5-star energy rating (not necessarily have to be Inverter type). RM200 off for refrigerator (regardless of sizes) and RM100 off for air-cond (regardless of horsepower).
Should also check with the sellers the models that are approved by the ministry.
I’ve bought 1 unit of 1-hp aircond (non-inverter) from SENQ in early July when the program started, just need to bring along your electricity bill (under the buyer’s name); and you will get instant additional RM100 discount on top of the seller’s discount.
