Sarawak Ready To Face Dry Season

MIRI, July 10 (Bernama) -- Sarawak is looking to enhance its capabilities to prevent the peat soil fire that contributed to haze at Kuala Baram here said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.



Uggah, who is the state's disaster management committee chairman, said with the dry season expected to start this month, the main priority this year was to act fast when fire and smoke are detected at Kuala Baram.

"Our main strategy is to prevent fire at Kuala Baram peat soil before it reaches critical level," he told reporters after visiting the Tudan Watch Tower today.....
