MIRI: Projects such as roads and clean water supply are the priority of the state government in continuing the development and progress required by the people of Sarawak.
Speaking to reporters during a Hari Raya Aidilfitri visit here yesterday, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said the development projects in Miri and Marudi will continue to be executed and this year is the implementation stage.
“The work on development projects will continue and more projects in Miri and Marudi will be done. We have also announced that this year is the implementation stage.
“The time frame for the projects might vary, some might take a year, and some might take two years, depending on the project. But the most important ones are the roads and clean water supply,” he said.
On Hari Raya Aidilfitri, he said it is a festivity celebrated by all races in the spirit of unity and harmony.

Abang Johari, his wife Datin Patinggi Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang and their entourage started their visit to Assistant Minister of Women, Family and Childhood Development and Bekenu assemblywoman Rosey Yunus’ residence at Taman Bumiko before heading to Temenggung Abdul Rahman Fadzail’s house in Piasau Jaya.
In the afternoon, they continued their visits to the house of PBB publicity chief Dato Usop Sani Wahap in Pujut, before going to the residence of Laku chairman Datuk Ahmad Lai Bujang, Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat and Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni.
In the entourage were Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Assistant Minister of Coastal Road Datuk Julaihi Narawi, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin, Assistant Minister of Local Government Datu Dr Penguang Manggil, State Legislative Assembly deputy speaker and Mulu assemblyman Dato Gerawat Gala, Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting, Miri mayor Adam Yii, deputy Miri Resident Nyurak Keti and Miri district officer Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusup.
