4 medium-sized or 2 large-sized crabs
1 pack chilli boh
2 cloves of garlic
2 serai (lemon grass)
Some dried chillies
2 tomatoes (cut into 4)
1 egg (beaten)
Sugar (to taste)
3 tablespoons of oil
Chop or cut shallots, garlic and serai into small pieces. You can blend them if you so wishes.
Heat oil in wok. Stir fry chopped shallots, garlic and serai for a few minutes.
Pour chilli boh into wok. Make sure the fire is set to low. Stir fry mixture for a few minutes. Add crabs, boiled water, dried chillies, tomatoes, tomato sauce and sugar. Cover wok for a few minutes.
Add beaten egg. Stir fry for 1 minute.
Remove from wok and serve.
The above is my own recipe for chilli crab. Anyone who has tried it and like it, please do let me know. Will also appreciate suggestions that can enhance this dish.
