Lol, i see curious driver stop by watching us flying the stuff in the video behind you.

(ykvoon) #13722

For smooth video really need to balance the prop and motor properly cos i spend many hours balancing it but still got jello effect on the video :(. For the night flying i am “IN” but hope its dont rain only hahaha “touch wood”

(allokitty) #13723

I’m lazy to balance my prop, I let my high rpm rotor to smoothen the video up. Btw found a cool place to do night fly not far from where we live, closer enough for family to hang around at cafe while we go to fly. Btw about that cam you SMS me just now, that 520TVL Cmos does works at night. I tested before on stock lenses. I’m right now installing LED lights on booms to make it looks entertaining at night.

(allokitty) #13724

Hey voon check this out, one of fellow pilot build this monster size multirotor at RM$2*,* * *. That is 5 digit value! And it carry big DSLR cam

Is that a torch light i see underneath? You know LED can handle 11.1~12v.

(Marcin) #13727

I love flying choppers

see how easy it is…even a four year old can do it

(ykvoon) #13728

haha yup its a torch light but i modified it to use led bulb inside and shorten the torch light housing to reduce weight

(allokitty) #13729

How many LED inside you put?, I bought some 12V white LED. I think definately will light the whole football field soon. Then you don’t need 520TVL Infrared cam to see around. I’m putting mine on my mini quad (V929) with 150 degree lenses so i can see whats around the corner, the same one use on my plane zig zag around the trees on last year FPV videos. Thinking putting CL antenna higher for better LOS video transmission on V929 . Btw i already remove my main twin cam on Q450 quad and now using single HD cam with video output and upgraded my video transmitted to 3s type. This save me weight removing 3.3v BEC to power 1s nano vtx and 520TVL cam Check out the photo, the GPS located near the module but so far have no effect at all unlike towered DJI GPS. I still can get solid 12 satelite lock.

After heavy meal me we went outside and have a quick instant flight around boulevard. My ultra small silent quad seem to be very stealthly, none of the public notice it flew above them at close proximity. Hehe… “Parking Lot” patrol drone. Maybe my Rukun Tetangga area need to have this mini quad to safe quard housing area.

Successfully aquired 3x mini quad platform for FPV from internet. One of them will be “Night Hunter”. Check out that two of them have smaller circuit board that came from first batch before the change the radio protocol.

Man killed in remote-control helicopter accident in Brooklyn

http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?secti … id=9237643

GRAVESEND (WABC) – The father of a teenage remote control helicopter enthusiast says his son was a great pilot.

Nineteen-year-old Roman Pirozek, Jr., of Queens, was flying the helicopter in a park near Bay 44th Street and Shore Parkway in Gravesend Brooklyn when it struck him in the head and killed him.

Roman Pirozek Sr. tells the Daily News his son was also a great friend.

The elder Pirozek acknowledged operating the helicopters was a bit dangerous, adding it was also an expensive hobby.

A tearful Pirozek told the paper his family still didn’t know what caused the fatal accident

The young man’s family returned home Thursday night and were met by neighbors with tears in their eyes.

“We are in shock because we are neighbors, we look after each other, we love each other, we care for each other,” said Margarita Aviles, a neighbor.

Pirozek, Jr. was an avid flier of remote control helicopters.

He flew gas-powered, turbine choppers with two foot-long carbon fiber blades.

Roman made a series of videos in the field in Gravesend, Brooklyn and posted them on YouTube.

Police say it was there while flying spectacular stunts that Roman lost control of his helicopter and was struck in the head and killed.

He was a member of a small group of remote control chopper pilots who told reporters that it can be a risky hobby.

“We’re all concerned about our own personal safety, but things happen, things happen,” said Eaton Boyce, the victim’s friend.

“It’s just an unreal event that someone that young, that full of life, enjoying something, is gone,” said Dino Spadaccini, the victim’s friend.

Weah Roberts assembles and repairs remote control helicopters and says Roman was clearly a talented pilot.

The cause, he says, was most likely a mechanical malfunction.

“You’ve got something with whirling blades, it’s like knives, and you get hit with that it’s no joke,” said Weah Robert, an RC Helicopter expert.

This is really one of the most dangerous things to do in the world
be careful please !

Hi kitty,

can you really deny that it is not dangerous?

(allokitty) #13733

Yes indeed it is dangerous, we discussed it last few year ago about this. If you read previous post about heli that we flew last years ago we did flew and injured ourself and ended up in hospital for few days. Check our previous threads. My friend got his stomach and his leg slice off. At Lutong a pilot lost his finger. Its a good thing you brought up such notice so that no one will dare to go lutong anymore because 700 size 10kg heli flying above them. I remember there one motor cyclist hit a heli and the heli slice the chassis into two at Peninsula Malaysia.

Which is why i discourage you to say “heli is easy to fly”. You must think of other safety before promoting flying a heli. Me and Aki and also few other stop flying heli because of such fact. The success to fly is to be ethical and knows your limit and boundary of hobby.

If anyone of you saw a heli flying at lutong or where every they maybe you must distance yourself 30 meters away as buffer zone because the fibreglass/carbon blade can slice anything in its path including car roof. If anyone of you familiar with lutong landscape near the field you will notice few usually trees are gone…go figure.

(allokitty) #13734

Good good, more like it. Hehehe. I don’t like people fly heli too

(allokitty) #13736

Yeah heli is bad…lucky i no fly anymore.

(ykvoon) #13737

we nowadays flying multicopter more than heli cos the blade is smaller and more stable than heli

(allokitty) #13738

Hehe… hey did you try out your wife quad copter and catch it with your hand? I remember we used to play catch but suddenly a cat leap over it and took it away. That is Rm$100 gone. I’m still looking around for that orange cat. I saw one of the bug shell rip off by their claws. Let me know if your wife done flying so you can mod it to FPV and we play indoor together.

(allokitty) #13739

NINJA CAT NINJA BITE!!!
Haha!! found one of the blades outside the gate. You can see the cat bite at the leading edge of the plastic blade. Next time i learn not to fly along the kitchen coridor where the cat will leap and catch it. I’m going to put plastic guard next time.
