woahh all your fpv projects poisoned me dy…might be my next project after buying super cp
is fpv system possible with small quadcopter like v929? how much will it cost roughly for fpv system? can i get the system to work on my laptop/pc so i save the money buying goggles?

(ASD) #13702

Allokitty, beautiful pictures of the ‘Old Lady’. At least we can enjoy it from another perspective  You should do an aerial HD video of the places of interest around Miri and upload them in Youtube…good for Miri Tourism. I would love to see an aerial video of Niah/Mulu caves from the outside and going into the cave mouth as far as there’s light for a good video.

Yes V929 is possible, what you see below and some of the quad snapshots/videos are from V929 in normal and HD mode. Did you saw my FPV video on V929 in previous page. Now mine already upgraded with HD video. You will need some extra soldering and electronic knowledge to make it possible and some lightweight mods to keep it flying.

For my V292 setup cost as shown below:

  1. WL-929 quad = RM150
  2. Turnigy 9X controller = RM350 + TX lipo/life =RM70
  3. FPV: 520TVL 1g nano cam with microphone with 90 degree lens = RM220
  4. FPV: Wireless video transmitter and receiver **mw = RM250
  5. FPV: CL antenna =RM50
  6. FPV cabling and power kit =RM70
  7. Lightweight 720p HD cam with 120 degree lens = R200
**+Need electronics and steady hand soldering skills.
    TOTAL COST: RM$1320/-
This setup and the quad FPV performance far surpass in performance, quality and durability compare to any commercial FPV quad available in the market. Yes, super durable FPV quad, crash and bash anywhere and it still fly like a boss. Home built DIY FPV quad at its best.

All you need to do is just hooked up to your TV screen and you’ll ready to fly remotely out of sight. Or make a home made video goggles like Ykvoon build.
Below are my latest setup on V929.

So FPV can be worked on any monitor including my pc monitor and laptop monitor? Haha everything out of my budget liao xD But if I’m gonna buy maybe will be cheaper a bit since can save cost on the 9x tx.What’s fpv cabling and power kit for?
If say now I’m tight on budget, and I just want to take some videos/pictures of the bird’s eye view, can this heli be strong enuf to lift a keychain recorder/camera with the shell removed?

FPV works ideally on analog signal monitor, not the new LCD monitor optimized for digital signal eg: HD digital/DVD media. Old TV or old monitor that support analog are the ones suits best because they are able display/capture slight weak video signal which makes flying safer and able to fly with no loss on video. The new digital LCD simply does blue screen if slight signal is missing from FPV.

Photo: Solid signal
http://imageshack.us/scaled/medium/28/1nbu.jpg

Photo: Signal almost lost, analog monitor able to capture weak broadcasted signal. However newer digital monitor will disconnect due to loss signal sensitivity.

Some CAT coaxial cables, RP-SMA/SMA connector, 2A filamen cable and mini A/V aux jack for VTX.

Yes you can but thats is not FPV. That heli will be a bit struggle to lift the keychain recorder. You will need some weight diet modification to make it possible. However you will cannot get a good snapshots due to heli vibration and you can’t target the object you want to record. You heli will have short lifespan on the motor and tail motor because of the weight plus short runtime on your battery.

Hey ykvoon, sorry didn’t call you up for our multirotor gathering, the timing was not right because i was asleep that very noon saturday when you call/sms in… was tired after daily of excitement hehehe    . Anyway got busy helping some new comer, programming multirotor for photography clubs, building some new planes and etc.

Btw you should come and meet few R/C pilot, as shown above picture you can see newbies into multirotor, they learn hard and in just few weeks they can fly already. You should join them and get to know them.

Almost all heli are China Made, so far quality is good. You’ll get 10% probability of getting broken ones.

Adventure of powerfull and smooth mini FPV quad (Version 3).
Finally after bunch of modification and improvement my FPV quad is now a joy flyer with unlimited flying capability and a joy to wonder around in the sky. I had a great flying adventure around Miri with this little guy. Took nice beautiful view around Miri. Also some visitors, guest and police nearby come closer to enjoy the view too through the screen. This friendly looking small machine attract lots of crowds. Anyway i keep my flying ethics not to fly above crowds or houses. I just fly around open path to keep my flying safe both property and public. Glad to share you some cool view over Miri. I also realised that the roundabout at Piasau was squarish instead of round as what we think before.

Version 3: Ultra light FPV multirotor!! I think its world lightest and smallest HD FPV.
I don’t like to exagerate but after checking existing fact over at R/C international forum and local malaysian group i think i did it. I built the lightest FPV multirotor of medium range flight capability 1.5km plam size that weight only 80gram…yes 80gram!! Full HD twin camera, medium range video transmission capability and it glides rather than fall like a rock. It has a huge powerfull vertical thrust and very silent hunter. Smooth cruise and do HD video recording along the way equivalent to its bigger rival that cost $,$$$.
Months of tuning, modifications and testing finally my little sky hunter is a supreme semi UAV. Small, portable, fun and also simple in construction. Now this machine is my everyday joy toy of the sky. I called it V3 (Version 3)

I test fly it at my backyard Its super stable than my tricopter and more easy to control. Just left camera and video transmitter need to install in   to do FPV And below is how the quad was born…

Going ROBOTICS: Full autonomous FPV quad copter, goinf full UAV
Hey Ykvoon here my review of the autonomous quad that day we tested at the beach. So far after 3 days of test and autonomous flight i must say this is most ultimate robotic technology we could get our hands on this era.
I’m getting lazy these days, so i let em fly by itself hehehe…

Btw here are prones and cons:
Pros:
-For lazy butt pilots
-Full autonomous, no pilot needed.
-Bunch of fail safe feature for long range flight
-You can do what ever you want, think outside the box.
-Scripted programming (Arduino codes)
-Way point mission, target chasing, environment self aware via sonar sensor
-Open source community based robotics coding.
-Speech activated, you can talk to your robotic quad…lol.

Cons:
-Have to fight the controls, the robots seems to have its mind of its own when it locks into something.
-Not much fun to fly manually since minimal 65% controls are on the FC side.
-Pain in the ass to build it. Wrongly build will cause the circuit to burn or explode.
-Some building instruction on internet are misguided.

Hey check it out, no controller needed. Just use Android tablet to do the work. Just command what ever you want and the quad will do as you wish. Maximum tech stuff!!
-No controller needed
-Wireless telemetry system
-Fly anywhere you want without live control
-Fully autonomous
-Can customized artificial intelligence via arduino coding
-Target chasing
-Open source codes
-Voice activated capabilities.

Your video looks smooth, my quad will vibrate bad at low altitude because of low rpm prop balance problem. If added extra weight i think it should solve my problem. So you wanna join night fly?
