Private hospitals in Miri Medical & room charges

Anyone know the charges of private hospitals i.e McMc, Columbia Asia, etc…(if they allow to publish it here)

Please be specific on what sort of charges you wanna know. Room charges around RM120/night. Nursing Charges around RM65. These 2 are categorized under Hospital Charges which include others such as equipment charges, Operating theatre for those who are going for surgery, medical supplies, pharmacy, etc. As for Doctor Charges, under consultation fee, they will charge you initial consultation of around RM180 and follow up consultation of around RM90/visit. If you are going for surgery, then they will charge you surgical fees and surgical anesthetic fee. Nevertheless, those prices are subject to discount. So it varies from case to case. You should have insurance to cover it for you because its ain’t cheap.

papalok, just go govt hospital in miri. the service is much better. better doctors. the nurses are kinder and pays more attention. my wife has two caesarian there. no complaints at all. charges in govt hospital less than RM200. if private hospital sure more than RM10000.

unless you rich

good to know government hospital provides reliable services!

Not if you’re lucky like Gorshan. Some ppl have terrible experiences there. But, one thing undeniable is that its cheap. CT Scan, endoscopy, etc… doesn’t cost you anything. Though lack of MRI Scan.

the terrible experiences you always often gets at the polyclinic level where it is understaffed. pity the doctors there who each has to clear not less than 200 outpatients per day but once you get upgraded to specialist level meaning govt hospitals it is less overcrowded and you get better attention from doctors and nurses, this from personal experience. those who gets bad experiences maybe bad luck got lousy doctor rude nurses. there will be black sheeps here and there .

what i do is be nice to doctor and thanks the nurses, praise them, engage them in light banter, crack a joke or two and i get excellent service in return even-though engaging them is without any ulterior motive on my part to get good service.

+1 agreed. As they are already exhausted handling so many patients, I believe we do not lose anything if we just initiate some friendly gestures like what gorshan did so as to create a cheerful or less-stressed atmosphere. Many a times when I visit the Policlinic, I do the same thing too and, believe me, you can notice the changes where their tired faces immediately freshened up. Of course I can’t deny that these tactics might not work on everybody every time!

hi guys,

Just my 2 cents worth…Miri General Hospital provides rather efficient service. Pity the doctors though cause they do 36 hour shifts , sometimes without sleep or food if they’re busy. They dont order unnecessary tests as compared to private hospitals. I still go to GH although queue is long. I guess its only fair if we compliment the doctors and nurses if they have done a good job as they work under stressful conditions.
However, I do agree that there are black sheeps in every profession.

I don’t think fathers can join in the birthing room…
the nurse will kindly request the fathers to wait outside the birthing room, if what I recall is correct…

owh…i wanted to join in… (just like in the tv series where father can join in…)

Miri GH services is much more better compare to Bintulu GH #honest #fact

menar lah? hehe.

menar~

Almost all Private hospitals are very costly as compared to the government hospitals. But Private hospitals provide excellent services and all surgical fees and surgical anesthetic fees are included in room charges.

Endoscopy Equipment Sales

money-faced hospital…only care bout money and not the wellbeing of the patients.

for gving birth,private hsptl nw charge rm4k for a day…thats normal gvng birth,if through operate,cost more…

damn,its now 2x the cost,laz few year it cost 2k only…

this medical issue is a very simple one. u can’t afford the medical fees just go to general hospital or polyclinic - as simple as that.

if don’t want to get sick, go live a healthy lifestyle, do good to other people and pray to God.

Government Hospitals and Medicine is heavily subsidised, now that’s caring for welfare of its people.

Recently my mum told me when she went to get her HBP medicine from the polyclinic, they show her the market price for the medicine and the subsidised amount.
So my mum is one of those very thankful to government subsidies on her medicine.
