MIRI: Parti Keadilan Rakyat held its outreach programme in Lambir near here yesterday helping youths to service their motorcycles and giving out free M-oil for their machines.

According to Zulhaidah Suboh, a former PKR candidate in Lambir, the programme was to bring the party nearer to the youths in order to get to know their problems and aspirations apart from helping them with their economic burden.

“We received a good response from the youths who not only came to service their motorcycles for free but also provided us with information and current issues affecting this group of our community which was not tackled by the previous government,” Zulhaidah said to The Borneo Post yesterday.

The programme was jointly organised by PKR Sibuti, Lambir and Bekenu branches. Over 70 people came forward to have their motorcycles serviced and were also given free M-oil.

During the event, the party also held a membership drive to recruit more youths into joining the party in order to prepare for the Sarawak state election which is due in 2021.
