Penang

any nice place to visit in Penang?
Nice food to eat ?

Around gurney area, try “Lo Lok”…Nice

there’s no point telling here because once you set foot on the island your attention gets diverted everytime. There’re many things there, but if you can visit the awesome shopping malls (Gurney Plaza, QueensBay Mall to name a few), good food is always nearby. Food taste is definitely different than what we get in Sarawak here.

Also, Penang is not organized conveniently compared to KL (where you can easily access public transport). Taxi rides are expensive too, and I don’t think driving is good because the traffic is like no other place in Malaysia. Traffic is brutal, rude and slow. Hope you enjoy your stay

herm…Kek Lo Si temple is not bad…
Bukit Ferringi is not bad too

Penang is a place full of yummy food!!

The best imitation Penang Char Koay Teow in Miri is at corner coffee shop at Pelita. That is where you find one of the best Chicken Rice. Only order if the wife is frying it. If the husband is there, I will wait till the wife is around.

Maybe someone can point out another place with better taste Char Koay Tiaw.

I have been going there on and off for many years. Even the little daughter is all grown up now. Now got one cuter little girl helping out the mum. My dau always say she is so cute and she is very respectful of the customers too.

Many years back I did have chance to taste the original Char Koay Tiaw somewhere in Penang but to me, not as good as the one in Miri. Maybe I should try the one highlighted by cacatkia and pEi next time I visit Penang. I like the ones with the big big prawns. Makes me salivate (lou nua) seeing the pix.
