GEORGE TOWN, Aug 19 (Bernama) – After three decades of not meeting up with each other, a Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) veteran was only too keen to fly from Sarawak to attend a reunion held for former Penang RTM staff here today.
For Yazid Ismail, 70, the reunion was like a ‘time-machine’, reliving the nostalgia of working in Penang for 10 years before moving to Angkasapuri in Kuala Lumpur and staying there until he retired.
Eighty-nine former RTM staff attended the gathering held at a hall in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
Yazid, a former RTM news programme producer who now resides at his village in Miri, Sarawak said he was greatly thrilled to be contacted by Noordin Che Din, the coordinator of the event, after Hari Raya Aidilfitri, and prayed that he would be in the pink of health to meet up with his old colleagues.
