KUCHING: A pastor lost cash and other valuables after her apartment in Stutong area here had been ransacked by burglars.

The victim, in her 40s, made the discovery around 2.30pm on Monday when she arrived at her unit located within a guarded complex only to see signs of forced entry on the front grille and door.

Upon checking, she found that a mobile phone, two tablet computers, foreign currency notes worth nearly RM2,000, a camera and some silver jewelleries were missing.

A police report has been lodged and the case is being investigated.

In a separate incident also on Monday, two men were arrested following their attempt to drive off a stolen car.

Policemen from the Central Police Station spotted the vehicle being parked at Main Bazaar here around 7pm and immediately ran a check on its licence plate.

After confirming that the car was reported stolen on Dec 2, they stayed there for about an hour until they saw two men showing up and getting into the vehicle.

The men in blue rushed towards the car just as the duo were starting the engine.

The suspects, a 27-year-old from Miri and a 26-year-old from Kampung Emperoh in Padawan near here, were sent to the lock-up pending further investigation.

Nowadays, they don’t care you’re a pastor or even a police officer.
They will still dare to come in and steal your stuffs, so those grill doesn’t really help much if no one was around.
