Nobody neglected under BN development agenda, says Awang Tengah

MIRI: There is no single minority group neglected in the state as far as the development agenda under Barisan Nasional (BN) is concerned.

Second Resource Planning and Environment Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan said BN component parties, such as PBB, were not only focusing on politics, but also on the welfare and interest of the people.

PBB is also an institution that aims to bring transformation across all aspects but the priority is still the people not who should dominate or which race should be in power.

We are mature enough to know the importance for a nation to have a stable political situation, he said during a Leader with the People dinner, hosted by PBB Lambir at a hotel here last Saturday, which was also attended by Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat, the event organising chairman.

Awang Tengah said in this context, PBB had always been prioritising the people, regardless of elections.

We are not like those from the opposition, who would only emerge to win peoples votes. PBB is made up of people who work all-year-round for the people.

The main priority for us now is to ensure that more Sarawakians, particularly those in the rural areas, can enjoy basic infrastructure such as clean water and electricity supply, he said.

At the same time, Awang Tengah also advised all PBB branches and sub-branches, including PBB Lambir, to stay united when tackling issues.

With cooperation, I believe that any problem would be able to be resolved amicably even though the process has to go through several phases, he said.
