Nikon D60 or Sony A300

Hi,

I planning to buy my 1st DSLR, Nikon D60 or Sony A300, which 1 you are recommended? How about Canon eos1000 & FujiFilm S100fs?

Thanks.

Don’t you want the Sony A350?

sony a300.

Based on the UK DSLR review, the Sony A350 got the highest rating though.

of course Sony.

sony

Sony a300 is user friendly. But I prefer Nikon’s image quality and color. Not sure about D60 lar…

Do more research online, google the review.
Go to the shop, and try it out yourself.
Make sure you try both!

Check http://www.cameralabs.com for both review.
Seem a300 review is better than D60.

Hi Terence, I suggest you do a comparison for the whole package camera and lenses for both brands not just the camera features. Lenses cost a bomb and i suggest you check out the prices for both camera brands.
Check for:

  1. Wide angle 12/14/20 to 35 or 50mm f3.5-4.5 or fixed
  2. Medium telephoto 24-70 f2.8
  3. Telephoto 70-200mm f2.8
*Aperture for above lenses depending on what you want to shoot, low light, sports etc and are some lenses compatible with your choice of camera?

These are the lens range that you would end up with after you gain better experience with DSLR. I know i did. Theres no perfect camera system but no offence to anyone, dont get the D60. Better of getting D90

I had tried both camera, the quality is almost same, I unable to differentiate the the photo. The the price is big different.

Sony A300 - RM2499 (18 -70mm PLUS 55 - 200mm Sony Lenses)
& the LCD is moveable

Nikon D60 - RM2199 (18 - 55mm Lense)

A300 > D60

the thing about D60 is that the options are so limited and not quite flexible. it’s just like a point and shoot with detachable lens (but of course picture quality is much better than point and shoot). just that it lacked ‘value’.

both camera are using the same Sony 10MP CCD sensor, so RAW performance should be very similar. But at slightly cheaper price, the A300 offers more than just a camera than can snap.

  • there are going to be more lenses for sony in the future…

Sony A300 with single kit lens 18-70mm is only RM1999.
+ there are going to be more lenses for sony in the future…
recently there was a price drop on all sony lenses. The biggest price drop was the 70-200 f2.8G SSM lens… from RM8899 to RM6699. Street price should be cheaper.

menabur racun nampak

Basta 15 … heheh.

If I were to get a Nikon… I wouldn’t bother choosing D60. It should be at least D80.

Yup.It should be at least a D80.Street price would be around RM 2100 (Body Only). And get a AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II .Would cost around RM 450-500 plus(Street Price).

i sell u my d80 lar… 5.5 months warranty left… kakaka…lol… jk.

Hi Friends,

Thanks of your opinions & shares :stuck_out_tongue: . I desired to buy Sony A300 since i only need 10MP.
