SIBU: Four members of a family were brutally murdered and another seriously injured in their double storey terrace house at 1H Lorong RTM13B, about 5km from here, about 7.30am on Tuesday.

Police have identified the victims as Ling Tong Hock, 36; his son David Ling Chei Qi, 10; daughter Amy Ling Zi Jiun, 7; and his 76-year-old mother Leong Nyuk Lan.

Tong Hock’s eight-year-old son Kelvin Ling Chei You, who was seriously injured in the attack, has been warded in the Intensive Care Unit of the Sibu Hospital.

All the victims sustained serious head injuries, believed to be caused by a hard object. Tong Hock and his mother were also slashed on their throats while Kelvin had a slash wound at the back of his neck. No weapon was found at the scene.

Tong Hock was a businessman involved in shipping and the trading of timber slabs.

Sibu police chief ACP Shafie Ismail said police believe robbery was not the motive of the murders as initial investigations revealed no valuables were stolen.

We believe there was more than one assailant. We have taken the CCTV footage from the house and hope it could be useful in our investigation, he added.

Tong Hock’s was found in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor together with his mother. The body of Amy, who shared a room with her grandmother, was found in the bedroom beside the kitchen.

David’s body was found in a room on the first floor.

The children were from Ling’s first marriage.

Ling’s second wife, 28 year-old Li Xiao Lan, who is a Chinese national, escaped unhurt through a window of the master bedroom on the first floor.

Regardless what the man might have done, the kids & grandma are innocent. Hope Police are able to find these bloody killers.

Besides, from the photo doesnt seem like there’s a force entry and I supposed its a terrace house, what happen to the neighbours ?

damn…the killer shall be hang on his neck for this…

ini memang duit / perempuan punya hal.

Rest in peace to the children…
so young already gone…

bastard should hang, jail for life only waste our tax money only…

More like act of revenge to me.
Maybe someone they knew since it doesn’t looks like force entry.

But whatever the case, should not involve innocent children and old folks.
Hope they catch the criminal soon.

expect the case to be swept under the carpet soon, cos that is what our law enforcement are good at. How many cases never brought up again after few rounds of ‘investigation’. wonder if there were indeed any investigation at all! that is our system…dont expect anything from our law. There are never around when you need them, Period!

condolences to the family and i hope the boy will pull thro & recover soon.
