MRC to hold blood drive in conjunction with UN Day

MIRI: Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri District is holding a blood donation drive in conjunction with United Nations Day at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall this tomorrow from 9.30am to 1pm.

United Nations Day is celebrated on Oct 24 as part of United Nations Week from Oct 20 to 26, to make known the aims and achievements of United Nations organisation to people all over the world to gain their support.

The blood donation drive is a collaboration between MRC Miri District, Miri City Council, Miri Indian Association, Miri Thai Poo Association, McDonalds and Yeo’s. New and existing donors are welcomed to help replenish the stock at Miri Blood Bank.

“Every drop of blood saves lives and we hope more would come forward to give their support by donating,” said Karambir Singh, MRC Miri District publicity officer, in a press release yesterday.

Successful donors will each receive a certificate of appreciation from MRC.
