MRC Miri collects 50 pints in first blood drive for 2021

MIRI: The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Chapter successfully collected 50 pints of blood during its blood donation drive held here last Saturday.

Event organising chairman Councillor Karambir Singh said the blood donation drive was the first one by organised by MRC Miri for 2021.

“This is our first blood donation drive for this year and the 79th one since the MCO (Movement Control Order) began in March,” he said.

Karambir added that the drive last Saturday also witnessed regular donor Ngadan Melintang, who is Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Pujut Branch deputy chairman, donating his 50th pint of blood.

“A total of 61 people registered to donate blood during the event but only 50 were successful.

“Overall, a total of 3,372 people have registered with 2,848 having donated successfully since March 25 last year,” said Karambir.
