Why are there so many money lenders around Miri ?
They are basically ALL OVER the place
everywhere you look there is a LEGAL money lending shop
what about ILLEGAL ones ?..there must be thousands here
why like this?

bank have lots of money. if lend out properly, ‘ahlong’ businesses sure die one.
but banks do not trust the common man. it prefer to do business only with big companies. tell them ‘social responsibilities’ they laugh in your face. they only lend you umbrella when it is dry and takes back the umbrella when it is pouring.
a bank with brain will know that it is small /medium businesses that runs 85% of the economy. it knows but it decides ‘not my problem’ and plays safe.
recently a well known bank announced closing down its commercial division all over Sarawak, what can i say except GOOOOOOOD ! this particular bank tells me , to open account must be recommended by other account holder and must deposit minimum few thousand dollars too.
I think it is more to do with the minimum wage…
it needs to be raised to AT LEAST RM 5000 per month.

Miri council should shut them all down!
Actually these money lender business is just a cover up for their “underground business”. In order to “clean” their money, they set up money lender shops so that they wont get catch by the authorities.
