Enhance Your Presentation Skills With Miri Toastmasters Clubs Presenting to Win Seminar

What do Americans fear more than death? Believe it or not, in a survey conducted in America , it was discovered that the number one fear among most Americans was the fear of speaking before a group! Such surveys have never been formally conducted in Malaysia so it would be inaccurate to make assumptions. However, it is a known fact that a lot of people dread to speak before an audience and look up to those who are able to present and communicate effectively.

As part of its mission to contribute to the development of the presentation and communication skills of the Miri public, the Miri Toastmasters Club is organizing a presentation skills seminar themed Presenting to Win on the 11th October 2008 at the Pustaka Miri auditorium. Stephen Fernando, the main speaker of this seminar, will share the skills and secrets that effective presenters use to capture audience attention and motivate them into action.

Stephen began his career in the government post office before resigning to venture into the training industry. His clientele since then included many large corporations, private individuals and non-profit organizations in Malaysia . Stephen is passionate about presenting in a humourous way as he believes that people are more receptive to what one has to say when they are enjoying themselves. Stephen said, Peoples level of presentation skills needs to be enhanced. Our current education system does not emphasize enough on subjects such as drama, debate and literature. These subjects are important to hone effective presentation and communication skills. Stephen will be presenting the Keys 2 Winning Presentations in this seminar.

The seminar organising chairman, Luke Bong said, Response from the Miri public has been very good. Weve managed to register close to 100 participants to date. Its encouraging to note that companies are sending their staffs to attend this seminar. That shows how much presentation skills are valued by the employers nowadays.

As seats for this seminar are limited the public is urged to purchase the tickets early. Tickets are priced at RM50 for the general public and RM30 for students. Group purchase of 10 tickets will receive 1 extra free. For more information on the seminar and tickets, please contact TM Ken Yong (016-8545117), TM Jennifer Hii (019-8590773) and TM Luke Bong (014-6992900).
