just a suggestion to the organising committee for the contest above.
in line with the contest title, i personally find its not fair to have the contestants (Kumang & Keling) to ‘parade’ in kebayas (for the female contestant) & formal dress code (for the male contestant) as it beat the purpose of ‘Kumang & Keling’ concept. this statement come from me based on the previous organised same contest at the same venue for the previous years.
yes, there’s no doubt this contest has something to do with beauty but don’t forget its a traditional beauty contest where traditional costume should be taken into account as well. the contestant should have proudly parade in their traditional costumes in order to be qualify to the final round. plus in most cases, contestant will look different (to some, they’ll look totally different) upon putting on their traditional costume so how justify it is to judge them based on this outfit in order to make them eligible to the final round?
Kumang & Keling contest is not just a beauty contest but i personally find it as a traditional costume contest too. to me, its a beauty contest with complete (nowadays, almost complete also can do) traditional costumes and that makes it unique as compare to other beauty contests.

ehekk trima kasih ngagai nuan tapi bedaw pasti sidak ka bala kumiti kak ninga jako kitai tok…
hey…who will take part here?
u can try …hehehee
Got pic to see?
i agree with Lady Bird…traditional costume and its culture should be the main attraction (just like miss cheongsam/chinatown etc whr they parade in cheongsam and have Q&A sessions about chinese culture and others). this pageant not only reflects the dayak culture but also reflects Sarawak culture and unique blend of race. it would be a typical normal contest if the contestant parade in kebaya (sound weird to me…wat does it have to do with dayak) and the man in formal suit. i mean those can be included but definitely not the final round whr they will eventually be crowned etc.
wana join but my org ulu costume is no complete sad…
What do most beauty contest queens end up doing after they are done competing? Ok, they won their crow, they got their scholarship, their year of service is up, they move on to what?
like nyonya and baba?
post some pic k…wanna see beutiful peagant
