KUCHING: The legendary Os Pombos is one of six bands that will be headlining this years Miri Country Music Fest (MCMF) to be staged at Parkcity Everly Hotel Miri on Feb 7.
The other bands to shake, rattle and roll Miri are Hi Breed from Kuching, Starlet Band (Miri), Rani and Westom Country band (Indonesia), Kareem Salama (USA) and Country Sisters (Czech Republic).
Led by Jude Singho, the Kuala Lumpur-based band whose music origins started from the Portuguese settlement in Malacca before saddling in at Long Horn Country & Western Pub (KL), is made up of his siblings blues-based Jerry and Bernadette together with Canute De Costa and Ronald Anthony.
Known for their vocal harmony, Os Pombos is expected to rock the Miri Country Music Fest stage with its long tradition of a western performance.
The country music fest is organized by Planet Conventions and Events Sdn Bhd (formerly known as UCSI Communications Sdn Bhd) in collaboration with Parkcity Everly Hotel Miri.
Organized with the aim of enhancing the tourism activities in the Resort City, Planet Conventions and Events is targeting to attract 4,000 fans.
This would be going double-up on last year, where the event believed to be the only one of its kind in the region managed to attract a crowd of about 2,000.
The programme for the day includes the festival bazaar offering wide varieties of food stuff, games and souvenirs, music workshop, line dance workshop and country music concert.
Tickets to the festival are priced at RM80 per adult, inclusive of one drink, and RM40 for a
child between three to 12 years old.
A child ticket comes with either one ice cream or soft drink.
