17th May 2008 - Saturday

Dear Friends,

Save Lives. You can save lives by donating blood

In conjunction with the Miri City Day celebrations and focusing on saving lives, a blood donation campaign which highlights the collective social responsibility of all of the many communities in Miri, will be held on 17th May 2008 - Saturday, at Imperial Mall Shopping Centre, Ground Floor. The time will be from 10:00am to 3pm.

This will ensure that the blood supply is maintained at a reasonable level during the Gawai period, therefore your help and care is needed.

The Miri General Hospital Blood Bank is very efficient and well run (with the assistance of the Malaysian Red Crescent Miri Chapter Blood Recruitment Sub Committee). It maintains a continuous supply of blood stock, with the generosity and warm support by the Miri community.

The Organising Committee consists of representatives from

(1) Miri General Hospital Blood Bank;

(2) Miri Red Crescent Miri Blood Donation Recruitment Sub-Committee;

(3) Miri City Council;

(4) Chinese Federation Youth Section;

(5) Miri Indian Association;

(6) Bisaya Association;

(7) Miri Lau Clan Association;

(8) Miri Toastmasters Club;

(9) IBS College Leo Club;

(10) IBS Students Council;

(11) Miri Hindu Society;

(12) Dayak Bidayu National Association;

(13) Sim Clan Association;

(14) Telekom Malaysia

(15) Miri Computer Association

(16) Dayang Enterprise Holding

Please encourage friends, colleagues and relatives to come forward to donate blood, to save lives, our ultimate goal.

“We all expect blood to be there for us, but barely a fraction of those who can give do. Yet sooner or later, virtually all of us or our family or friends will face a time of great vulnerability in which we will need blood. And that time is all too often unexpected.”

“Together we can Save Lives”

Thank You & Warm Regards
