Miri City Council orders owners to remove abandoned vehicles

MIRI: The Miri City Council (MCC) has issued a notice ordering the removal of vehicles from three different locations by their owners.

We believe that two cars, of Mitsubishi Pajero and Toyota models, have been abandoned at sections of Jalan Krokop 1, while a van with registered plate number ME 2435 Q has been left in front of the tamu (farmers market) in Taman Tunku.

Another car with registered plate number QMD 6967 is also found parked for quite some time at a section of Jalan Lawas, Lorong 1 of Taman Tunku, it said in a statement yesterday.

MCC reminded the owners that they would have two weeks, effective yesterday, to remove the vehicles.

If they fail to do so, we would assume that the vehicles be regarded as waste, of which we would remove them from the locations and have them disposed of. No claim (over the vehicles) will be entertained after this two-week period, the council said.
