MIRI: Mega Consulting and Training Centre (MCT) organised a complimentary motivation talk for 20 school leavers as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme at Saberkas Commercial Centre here recently.
The talk focused on the roles played by the Safety and Health Officer (SHO) in the industrial development of the state.
MCT managing director, Ignatius Nyaleng said the talk was initiated to raise awareness among school leavers about the duties of a safety officer, occupational safety and health (OSH) issues and how to register with the Workers Health and Safety Department (JKKP) in future.
He shared his experience with the participants, urging them to get the `Green Book’ and encouraged school leavers to invest in OSH courses as the state still lacked registered SHO trainees.
Later, he presented certificates of participation to the school leavers upon completing the talk.
Meanwhile, on the establishment of MCT, Nyaleng said the centre aims to train and provide professional consultancy services on Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE), besides offering OSH courses.
