MIRI: A 40 year-old man was killed when a motorcycle he was riding collided head-on with a tanker truck in Bekenu, early yesterday morning.
The motorcyclist, identified as Alice Jikoi, who was riding alone, was on his way to work.
In the 7am incident, the truck carrying a non-toxic liquid used in construction industry, was heading towards Miri from Bintulu, before the mishap occurred.
The incident took place nearby a sharp corner at Kampung Terahad, Bekenu.
Due to the collisions impact, Alice was thrown off his motorcycle and landed by the roadside.
Alice died due to multiple injuries he sustained on his body and head.
Miri deputy police chief, Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, when contacted yesterday afternoon, confirmed receiving a report on the incident.
Alices body has been sent to Miri hospital morgue for post mortem.
