Malaysia's Dive Sites Gain Interest At DEMA Orlando 2017

LABUAN, Nov 8 (Bernama) – The presentation on Malaysia’s dive sites at the recent world-recognised tourism platform, Diving Equipment & Marketing Association (DEMA) Show 2017 in Orlando, Florida, United States was well received by the international diving industry players.

The four-day (Nov 1-4) event with participants from various countries around the world, saw at least five Malaysia’s popular dive sites presented by international undersea photographer Rudy Whitworth.

His presentation entitled ‘Emerging Dive Locations in Malaysia’, namely Tioman , Kuching, Miri, Labuan and Layang-Layang had attendees giving positive comments on the images and stories presented by him.

“One attendee from Martinique (a Caribbean island) said the images and stories I presented made him want to travel to Malaysia to see all those beautiful things that he saw on the screen and he even asked about the travel arrangements and costs,” Whitworth told Bernama via email.

With 39 diving experiences across the globe under his belt, Whitworth collaborated with Tourism Malaysia to promote Malaysia’s popular dive sites, especially at DEMA Orlando, an international trade-only event for the diving, action water sports and travel industries…
