MIRI: More than 100 children took a trip into nature in an educational programme entitled Step by Step Let us Preserve, Let us Give which was held at Piasau Boat Club yesterday.
The programme organised by Interhill Group (Interhill) under its After School Project, was aimed at creating awareness on the importance of education among the community notably children.
This programme was planned because we (Interhill) realise that education is a vital element in achieving success, said Interhill Corporate Communications manager Agnes Nyelang in her officiating address at the function yesterday.
Realising this, she said Interhill had organised numerous programme and activities with a focus on education.
Participants comprised children from Hamidah Welfare Complex, Anak Kesayangan Kami Charity Home and children from Kampung Wireless.
The organiser also wanted to give participating children exposure to the concept of kindness and responsibility.
Meanwhile, Agnes expressed her thanks and gratitude to non-government organisations (NGOs) which collaborated with the organiser in putting the event together.
We would like to record our thanks to Malaysia Nature Society (MNS) and Zero Stray Miri for their collaboration in this programme, said Agnes.
The programme started with the children visiting the Piasau Nature Reserve, followed by a briefing on domesticated animals and pets.
