Job Description

The position is an administrative position at the Branch Campus University in Sarawak. The appointee will assist the Director, Human Resources (HR) in planning, supervising where required and implementing all HR activities across the various functions of HR Unit – which include administration of staff benefits and welfare, performance management, staff engagement and other compensation surveys and employee relations and discipline. The appointee will also assist in the planning of related HR activities and carrying out new initiatives undertaken by the unit as well as any other relevant tasks as assigned.

The requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management / Human Resource Development, Business Administration / Management or other related discipline from a recognised institution; or a Diploma from a recognised institution with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience.
  • At least three (3) years working experience in relevant various functions of human resources – particularly, employee relations and discipline, performance management, administration of staff benefits and welfare, personnel administration and HR operations.
  • Proficiency in the application of information technology to administrative systems and tasks, including demonstrated competence with word documents, spreadsheet packages and presentation for analysing data and preparing management reports.
  • Familiar with the current regulations and requirements as well as various government and statutory bodies (e.g. Sarawak Labour Ordinance, Human Resource Development Fund, SOCSO, Inland Revenue Board, Employee Provident Fund etc).
  • Ability to communicate well in spoken and written English to ensure information is conveyed effectively and to develop cooperative working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, and proven ability in planning with resourcefulness and initiatives to conduct follow-through of multiple-projects.
  • Demonstrate maturity and of pleasant personality, with good interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrate integrity in handling sensitive information and ability in maintaining confidentiality of information.
