MIRI: The two major developments for this city – one on health facilities and services, and the other on low-cost housing – should boost the overall quality of life of the people here.
In this regard, Miri MP Dr Michael Teo for the health sector, the main concern is for the city to have a hospital larger than the present Miri Hospital, which is always experiencing congestion.
For the housing sector, he points out the need to have at least 8,000 low-cost residential units.
He says based on feedback from the ground, these two areas are highly crucial for the city folk.
“Upon the successful implementation of a bigger hospital for Miri by the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government, I would be the happiest person in the city.
“Similarly, once the 8,000 houses are available for the low-income group, particularly the squatters, I would also be the happiest person in Miri,” said Teo after officiating at the opening of SMK St Joseph Miri’s ‘Excellent Awards’ ceremony for Form 5 students at a hotel here on Saturday night.
Dr Teo assured Mirians that he would do his best to ensure that these two main projects would be implemented by the PH-led government.
