How was the name DATSUN created?

Check this at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datsun

Datsun was an automobile marque. There never was an actual “Datsun” company, as the brand name was used in production only by DAT Motors and Nissan Motor Co., Ltd… The name was created in 1931 by the DAT Motorcar Co. for a new car model, spelling it as “Datson” to indicate its smaller size when compared to the existing, larger DAT car. Later, in 1933 after Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. took control of DAT Motorcar Co., the last syllable of Datson was changed to “sun”, because “son” also means “loss” () in Japanese, and also to honour the sun depicted in the national flag, hence the name “Datsun” : Dattosan (, Dattosan?).[1]. The Datsun brand was discontinued in March 1986. The Datsun name is most famous for the sports cars referred to as the Fairlady roadsters and later the Fairlady (240Z) coupes.

Prior to above, DAT Motors management, so upbeat in and proud of producing their first prototype sedan were actually at odds with each other in naming it. They actually agreed to asking Ford in USA to maybe suggest a name. They called Ford, who said ok and would let them know. DAT waited and waited and after a week or so, called Ford again to ask … have you found a name for our car yet? Ford Replied … no, not yet, we’re still working on it. OK, we’ll call again, DAT said. One more week past with no response, DAT called Ford again with a bad phone connection and said … we’ll give you one more week, to which Ford asked …“that soon”? The other end of the phone line went up with a whoop and said … "that’s it, that’s the one …DAT SUN!! Coincidence?
