MIRI: Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan election mobile “war trucks” were trying to outdo each other while campaigning for the hotly contested Miri parliamentary seat.
On Saturday night (May 5), the Barisan Nasional’s Sarawak United Peoples Party (SUPP) scheduled its ceramah at the Boulevard Commercial Centre.
Before Miri SUPP leaders could start their speeches, the Pakatan team staged their ceramah on their mobile stage - less than 100m from the SUPP “war trucks”.
Members of the public caused congestion in the areas as they gathered to listen to the speeches from both political camps.
The speeches by the PKR and DAP Miri leaders were focused on the call by Pakatan for a change of the Federal Government in Putrajaya.
Miri SUPP leaders are banking on issues about local agenda for the development of Miri and Sarawak.
They are seeking to have a bigger Barisan presence in Putrajaya in order to fight for Sarawak’s rights.

Miri has 80,542 registered voters.
