MIRI: The extension project for St Matthias’ Chapel in Tudan is still short of RM800,000 to finance the total construction cost for the RM2million project.
In order to source for funds, the Good Shepherd Church in Lutong is organising a fundraising sale for the St Matthias’ Chapel building project.
Its organising chairman Moses Likong said the fundraising event would be held on May 2 at the church compound from 8am until noon.
“The fundraising sale actually is our church annual event. For this year, the proceeds from the sale will be channelled to the chapel building fund.
“We hope to raise at least RM50,000 from the sale.”
He said there would be at least 35 stalls selling all sorts of local produce and delicacies such as ayam pansoh, laksa, cendol, penyaram and many others. There would also be games stalls for children.
In an effort to make the event more meanigful, there will be free health checks by personnel from Miri Hospital.
Parish Vicar, Rev Donald Jute called on parishioners to support the fund raising project.
He assured that there would be plenty of items for everyone.
