Firm to help find man harassing teen using nude photo Monday October 8, 2007
SUNGAI PETANI: Police are working with Digi Communications to trace a person who has been terrorising an underage girl by sending a nude photograph of the girl.
The person had been sending the photograph of the 16-year-old girl via the multimedia messaging service (MMS) since late last month, said Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Hashim Ali.
It is learnt that the girl, accompanied by her fathers friend from Penang, lodged a report at the Sungai Petani police station here several days ago.
It is learnt that she had taken the photograph with her own camera phone as a girlish prank.
However, it is believed that she accidentally sent the photograph to an unknown number by mistake when she was trying to store the picture in her phone.
On Sept 26, she was shocked to receive the same photograph, which was purportedly sent by a Digi Telecommunications user.
The girl was too frightened to inform her parents and so she had only told her best friend, who advised her to make a police report.
A Digi Telecommunications spokesman said that it would take at least a week for the company to trace the name of the Digi prepaid user.
We can only hope that the user has registered his real name. If the information fed to Digi is false, there isnt much that we can do to help, said the spokesman.

This beat the purpose of registering the prepaid phone, isn’t it? It really disturb me that the whole process to “force” prepaid user to register their number just a useless process. y do prepaid user still need to register yet simple thing to retrieve user information took so long and the information might not be real.

I wonder how the heck can that happen. Accidentally sent to a contact number already listed in her phone, probably - but sent to an unknown number that happens to be a working one?? She’d need to key in a random working phone number for it to work!

Exactly, Ian. I was about to say that and u beat me to it first. Since it’s unknown number, I supposed you have to key in all the 10 digits manually, right? If it’s already in the phonebook, then she’ll be able to know whom she sent it to. :? :?

ok CSI Miri team… then she might be telling a lie then…Izzit?
I think she is making a mistake at first by herself…and for all the ladies in the club… please do not follow her footstep… already we heard about the same stories in the past and still ppl making mistake… “taking nude photos, nude video, etc using mobile phone…then…next is on air”
hmm… no one can be blamed in this case BUT the girl herself should be blamed.
First, Why take nude pics of herself and wan save in phone summore??
Second, sending to an unknown number? tats wierd. Unless she is ‘selling’ herself.
And, to be HONEST. EVERYONE BE HONEST HERE!!
IF you received a nude pic from somebody or anybody i assume tats good looking or boleh tahan lar you sure will forward to ur frens. So it continues on from another to another.
And i think the person who forwarded it to her must be a good guy.
The person forwarded her own pic to her is only trying to help her realise that her own pic is spreading all over via mms. This is so that she will be taking some actions and precautions!

maybe on drug… and not know what she is doing…[/quote]
Ya lor…I just cannot figure out lah on sending to unknown number. Then again, why take her own nude pic ah?? If want to look at her own body, look in the mirror lor…why take picture of own naked bod?? Sigh!!
