Facebook will be closed down on 15 of march 2011

PALO ALTO, CA Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in March. Managing the site has become too stressful.

Facebook has gotten out of control, said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.

Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts.

After March 15th the whole website shuts down, said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You wont be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business.

Zuckerberg said that the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult, but that he does not think people will be upset.

I personally dont think its a big deal, he said in a private phone interview. And to be honest, I think its for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. Thats always a good thing.

Some Facebook users were furious upon hearing the shocking news.

What am I going to do without Facebook? said Denise Bradshaw, a high school student from Indiana. My life revolves around it. Im on Facebook at least 10 hours a day. Now what am I going to do with all that free time?

However, parents across the country have been experiencing a long anticipated sense of relief.

Im glad the Facebook nightmare is over, said Jon Guttari, a single parent from Detroit. Now my teenagers face wont be glued to a computer screen all day. Maybe I can even have a conversation with her.

Those in the financial circuit are criticizing Zuckerberg for walking away from a multibillion dollar franchise. Facebook is currently ranked as one of the wealthiest businesses in the world, with economists estimating its value at around 7.9 billion.

But Zuckerberg remains unruffled by these accusations. He says he will stand by his decision to give Facebook the axe.

I dont care about the money, said Zuckerberg. I just want my old life back.

The Facebook Corporation suggests that users remove all of their personal information from the website before March 15th. After that date, all photos, notes, links, and videos will be permanently erased.

No wonder Mark Zuckerberg called me last night asking if i want his FB or not.

It’s a hoax.

i am sure this is a hoax like stay1 said. i don’t believe he would close down facebook.

i read from the star online previously. here’s an extract about their earning:
…Through the first nine months of last year, Facebook earned US$355mil (RM1.14bil) on revenue of US$1.2bil (RM3.8bil), according to the person who reviewed the offering document. …

i don’t see how he could stop here. i think it will just grow and expand with new ideals.

we just wait n c whether its true o not~~~ 8)

Who would close a company that is worth some US$50 Billion and still counting? It’s insane to think of closing down a profitable company.

My facebook news feed also flooded by this kind of hoax news… sigh… oh my…

my dad even believe this is true…tsk tsk tsk…~

there’s actually a lot of people out there who believes everything they see ,which include websites like onion news network… and weekly world news is just like onion news network… everything from there is pure fiction… better move this to the jokes section to avoid misguiding people who actually believes in it…

they should know it’s a hoax at first sight

people seem to think mark zuckerberg owns all of facebook? fact is, with all those capital investment he accepted, he now only hold approx. 25% shares of the company. and you know 25% is not enough to get the company closed

Some people will just believe anything that they see on the internet. If they had taken a second look around that Weekly World News website, and still believe that news, then they’re just plain naive and stupid.

But the sad thing, our dearest Borneo Post decided to publish this news too, on the front page some more. Sensationalise some rumors to sell more copies?? Are they trying to become a tabloid papers now?

well when I read it also.I know is a hoax all along.but I post it here to see what you guys will comment and say about it.Who would wanna closed a website that earn more than a million or billion and still continuing on.

== seriously…if he close this facebook website…it will be a disaster

u think he need to work to maintain Facebook…with what he got, he can hire enough people to maintain it la…really a joke la…

well, at this point, if he decided to completely halt expansion and further improvement (excluding minor bug fixes), there are very few things that can stop him from hiring a bunch of people just to maintain the company at this point…
