Drinkers’ dispute ends with nasty tummy slash

Kuching: A drinking session on Saturday night with two brothers turned nasty for a man when a dispute between him and the siblings ended with his stomach being slashed. The 37-year-old victim from Kampung Sebobok in Bau was drinking with the two brothers at their house in the same village when an argument over an unknown issue broke out between him and the pair. According to the victims father, one of the brothers suddenly grabbed a parang and slashed his sons stomach. The injured man ran home and his family members took him to Bau hospital. Accompanied by his father, who said he had reported the incident to the police, the victim was referred to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH). In an unrelated incident, a young couple involved in a minor traffic accident at Jalan Stampin was reportedly assaulted by the other party involved and had to seek medical treatment. In the 2am incident, the 20-something couple was driving along Jalan Stampin when their Kenari side-swiped another vehicle. Sources said a heated exchange took place between them and the other party believed to comprise several persons. Besides being assaulted, the windscreen of the couples car was smashed.
