Curtin to hold webinar on suicide prevention

MIRI: Members of the public here are invited to join a free webinar entitled ‘How to Respond to Someone who is Feeling Suicidal’ organised by Curtin University’s (Malaysia) Health, Counselling and Disability Services Department.

It will be held from 2pm to 3pm on Nov 25 in conjunction with World Mental Health Day 2020.

The speakers will be registered university counsellors Jessica Akang and Dorety Panggil, who will talk in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Jessica and Dorety will talk about the prevalence of suicides in Malaysia and the world, as well as signs and symptoms of suicidal people. They will also talk about the do’s and don’ts in dealing with suicidal people.

The webinar is also relevant to secondary school and tertiary students, teachers, counsellors, and working adults.
