The University Life will be organising our 2nd Annual International Cultural Awareness Day on 23 August 2008 at the Imperial Mall Concourse.
The International Cultural Awareness Day is an annual one-day event organised with the objective of showcasing our University’s cultural diversity and to raise public awareness. The event will feature cultural exhibitions and performances from various cultural groups.
We would like to take this opportunity to the public to come and witness the event in making the event a success.
This years theme is ‘Cultural Arts’ and we encourage interested participants to explore their country’s performing as well as visual arts. Performing arts include mainly a mixture of musical dramas, dancing, singing, and also playing traditional & cultural musical instruments. Visual arts on the other hand could consist of handicrafts, sculptures, art pieces/ paintings/ drawings, photography, traditional costumes and many more.
Each participating cultural group will be assigned an exhibition area and will be required to contribute a minimum of one performance.
This event provides a wonderful opportunity for the Curtin community to come together in celebrating and sharing our diverse culture with the larger Miri community.
We look forward to see you!
Thank you for your support!
Regards
The University Life Team
